MECHANICAL PARTS
You will need the following parts to complete the robot:
Two motors, wheels and tyres, mounts to hold the motors in place, optionally encoders, a battery and battery connector, nuts and bolts to hold the motors on place and support the Mezzanine or sensor boards, and two skids to keep the robot level. Below are details of each of these things:

Motors |
You need 2 Micro Metal Gearmotors with a gear ratio ideally of around 20:1 (600 rpm) with extended back shafts if you plan to add encoders, or with encoders already included. Polulo do 15:1 or 30:1 (800rpm or 400 rpm) 6V motors with encoders fitted which would be OK |

Encoders and encoder cables |
You can add an encoder disk to an extended back shaft micro gear motor. These are sometimes available from Pi Hut but more often now the motors are sold with an encoder fitted You will need two 6 pin 1mm pitch JST-SH cables to connect the motor encoder to the main board. An adaptor is used to convert the JST-SH cable to 2.54 pitch to connect it to J1 and J2 |
