This is one of 10 UKMARSbot robots built at KES School in the 2019/2020 academic year with students in year 8.
Motors are Pimoroni N20s with the extended shaft and a 20:1 gearbox, but no encoders have been fitted at present, although by using the extended shafts it would be possible to add them later. The wheels were printed at school on a 3D printer and use O rings as tyres
Sensors are just two 3mm red visual light of 3000mcd from Rapid at the front of the line sensor board, with one phototransistor between them to measure the returning light. No side marker detectors have been fitted. Power is supplied by a USB rechargeable battery with a PP3 form factor.
Due to Covid-19 we were limited in the time available to tune the coding and were unable to take this robot to the Micromouse competition in 2020, but we have managed to run it on the 2020 virtual competition track with a time of 26.6 seconds.
