We have been looking at the possibilities for a half size line follower challenge and Duncan has published a test track for printing in A1. I thought I’d see just how few special items were needed to try this out. So I used my A4 printer in posterising mode to print the track and armed with scissors and Sellotape made up the track. It’s pretty rough and ready with a few misalignments and creases and the Sellotape is pretty shiny.
Nevertheless I went ahead and disabled the radius and start/finish detection on Magellan and turned the speed down, the hardware is unchanged. You can see Magellan going round on this video:
We can see that UKMARSBOT is more than capable of running on a half size track and the options for larger half size tracks using multiple A1 or A0 sheets for competition courses look promising.
